TOWONG RACECOURSE
Situated along the Murray Valley Highway, Towong Racecourse is a picturesque country racetrack some 125 miles East of Albury in Victoria State.
The Towong Turf Club was established on 9th December 1870 and had organised their first meeting by 1st March 1871.

The course was used as part of the filming of Phar Lap and showed the great horse competing in its first race which it lost.
The principal race is the Towong Cup run each March. In 2008 it was run on Saturday 7th March and was won by Madam Delia, ridden by Brendan Ward and trained by Liz Aalbers.
