LA PLATA RACECOURSE
 Racing first took place in the La Plata area as early as 1884. Indeed the first recorded meeting is known to have taken place on 14th September of that year and a crowd in excess of 4000 people attended. The course had to close in 1927, but reopened in 1930. It was the first course in Argentina to hold floodlight racing in 1964.
An important Grade 1 race competed for at the course is the Provincia de Buenos Aires Stakes run over 2200 metres on the dirt track. Its most recent winner of the race was Garatero, who was winning his third race at the track which had previously included the Grade II Jockey Club Stakes.
A Classic run at the course is the Gran Premio Dardo Rocha, run over 12 furlongs, and its most recent winner was Reraise who was ridden by Blanco Rodrigo.
