Speedway racing has taken place at three separate venues in the Sittingbourne area of Kent since 1971 when they operated in training events. The first recorded match was at the Old Gun Site on Bonfire night 1972. The Sittingbourne team were known as Iwade and in 1974 they beat Mildenhall by 41 - 37.

SP Dallison.JPG (24606 bytes) By 1995 the team was in the Academy League and joined the Conference League for the 1996 season.

Greyhound racing came to the Central Park Stadium in Sittingbourne in 1997 and it is hoped that this will be a venue for future speedway events.
