BURRUMBEET & WINDERMERE RACECOURSE
The Burrumbeet Racecourse can be located on the Western Highway to the West of Ballarat and about 88 miles from Melbourne in Victoria State.
Often outshone by its near neighbour Ballarat, especially on Ballarat Cup Day, Burrumbeet can however boast a large attendance on its race days.

A Racing Club for the neighbouring towns of Burrumbeet and Windermere was first formed in 1890 and within three years they had organised their first meeting. Although they did build a grandstand at one stage, this was demolished in the early 1950's.
The principal race is the Burrumbeet Cup run over 1800 metres each New Years Day. The race was won in consecutive years by Surfie Pete in 2005 and 2006, and his trainer was bidding to win the race again in 2009 with Inglewood Doc.
