WINGATUI RACECOURSE  
The racecourse is based at Mosgiel in the Otago region of South Island and records show that racing took place in the area as early as 1862, moving to the present course in 1899. The Otago Racing Club oversee races which take place on at least 9 occasions annually.
  The course also host racingonce a year for Beaumont Racing Club which are so named because they held their original meetings at Beaumont. The Otago Hunt Club also make use of the racecourse.

 

 
One of its main races is the Dunedin Casino Gold Cup which was run for the 137th time in 2009. On 31st January it was Never Plead Guilty, ridden by Ashlee Mundy, who got home ahead of Borninthestates.
  It also plays host to Dunedin Champions Day each January when the principal race is the Group 3 White Rose Lodge Handicap.
