NORTON CANES GREYHOUND STADIUM

The greyhound track in the Staffordshire town of Norton Canes on the Hednesford Road and was situated at 1° 57' W 52° 39' N and first opened for racing in 1975. It was run by the Southalls and operated under NGRC rules. It was a family run affair and held meetings each Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening. Sprint distances were over 265 metres and the longest trip was usuallya marathon 969 metres.

The principal race was the Norton Canes Silver Plate over 440 metres and contested each October, whilst in the Spring there was the Norton Canes Spring Cup.
