Ethiopia 1952.JPG (13698 bytes) JAN MEDA RACECOURSE
Based in Addis Ababa, the capital of the African country of Ethiopia, is the Jan Meda racecourse. It was on 5th May 1936 that Emperor Haile Selassie left the country fearing the onset of War. He returned exactly 5 years to the day later on 5th May 1941 and began the challenging task of rebuilding his country.
A racecourse was established and a badge is shown above. Today the course still exists and regularly hosts International Cross-Country races.
