HIGHGATE GREYHOUND STADIUM

This site is not an official website for the track shown here and is neither approved or endorsed by the stadium. I am indebted to Richard English for the scans of badges on this page.

The Highgate area of Goldthorpe in Yorkshire has a greyhound track on Nicholas Lane on the outskirts of Rotherham situated at 1° 18' W 53° 32' N and operates as an independent track. It first opened for racing in 1990.

It holds races on a Tuesday evening and the usual distances are 250 metre sprints and 414 metre standard, although long distance events over 700 metres are also common. It is renowned for its handicap races.

This section gives a comprehensive picture of the badges produced by the track throughout the ages, but only provides the briefest of glimpses of its history. For those wishing to undertake further research we can recommend a visit to
