EASINGTON GREYHOUND STADIUM

This site is not an official website for the track shown here and is neither approved or endorsed by the stadium. I am indebted to Richard English for the scans of badges on this page.

The greyhound track at Easington is situated at 1° 21' W 54° 47' N and operates as an independent flapping track outside of NGRC rules. It is situated on the Sunderland Road and first opened for racing in 1930. The Stadium is in Peterlee on the outskirts of Sunderland in County Durham. It is billed as the safest running track in the country. Unusually it not only currently holds meetings on Wednesday evenings but also Sunday evenings, although in the past its racing nights were Thursday and Saturday. Racing distances range from 270 yard sprints to 640 yards distance events.

This section gives a comprehensive picture of the badges produced by the track throughout the ages, but only provides the briefest of glimpses of its history. For those wishing to undertake further research we can recommend a visit to
