This was run on Thursday 4th June 1835 and the winner was trained by J.Scott at Malton. There were 14 runners from 128 original subscribers. The winner won by a head and claimed a first prize of £3.550, (The equivalent of £428,800 in today's terms based on Bank of England inflation calculator). Only 2 horses were placed. The winner was bred by Mr John Bowes and trained by John Scott.
