This was run on Thursday 30th May 1816 and there were 11 runners from an initial entry of 51. The winner won by 1/2 a length to claim the first prize of £1,635 15s, (The equivalent of £151,500 in today's terms based on Bank of England inflation calculator). The winner was bred by HRH the Duke of York and trained by William Butler.
